5 for Friday!!

Hello Hello! This is my first time linking up with Doodle Bug for 5 for Friday and I am very excited! I slacked a little bit this week with my blogging. But hopefully I do a little better next week. So on to the Link Party!

Monday was Monday Made It Link Party with 4th Grade Frolics! I have posted this wreath 2 weeks in a row now. The first week was just the wreath but this past week I posted how to make this wreath! I have made a total of 3 of them already! I love it! I sent two back to Ohio to my mother and aunt to hang on their door for 4th of July! Check it out! Click on the wreath for directions!

Number 2...Fact and Opinion Task Cards! I made these for my early finishers to use at the start of the year. I know I have a couple kiddos who will be higher then the rest of my class, and I am planning on them finishing before others. This is just one activity I have created to keep them busy and active.  Click on the cards to check them out in my store!

If you saw my post on Wednesday, it was all about Kickball! Wednesday night is kickball night...well so is Thursday! And guess what...my team won the championship! 4-3! I ran 1st to 3rd base....slid into the plate and got some nice scratches on my legs :/ BUT I scored the first run for us in the 4th inning. Up to then it was 0-3!! So I started the rally! Wahooo!!

I heart slot machines! Wednesday and Thursday are usually pool days at a casino for my friends and I. However, this week we did not have good weather on Thursday...so I hit up the casino! And ching ching ching! I won some money! Those winnings came from a new Batman and Robin slot machine (which if you knew me....you would know I LOVE Batman!) There is also a new Titanic Slot machine! Which I really wanted to play but these older couple would NOT get off the machine! I wanted to play and hang out with LEO! I don't know about you but I am a huge fan of the Titanic! Whenever it is on...it sucks me in!

Just a little extra and fun! Look how stinking cute both of these are! If you have not noticed yet...I am also a HUGE Disney fan! I blame it on my father! He took us to Disney World every Memorial Day Weekend when I was a little! I heart Minnie Mouse so much!

Wordless Wednesday! Kickball!

Happy Wednesday! Wednesday already! This week is flying by! Wednesdays mean...Kickball! It is kickball Wednesday.  So I am linking up with Miss Sugar and Spice for Wordless Wednesday!

I know what you are all thinking...kickball?! YES KICKBALL! And I don't mean just a little pick up game here and there... we are a professional kickball team that.... practices, has legit jerseys,  travel around the country for tournaments,  and took 3rd in the biggest kickball tournament of the year...which has over 150 teams competing to win $$$ and be called the BEST!

If you would have told me when I was 9 years old, when I was playing kickball at recess, that 20 years later I would be competing in kickball games...NEVER would have believed it!

Now after playing for over 4 years...I still can't believe it! But let me tell you.... it is a blast! Especially after a CRAZY day at school...going out to the field and hanging out with my friends and exercising makes everything better. Heck I even met my boyfriend from kickball...3 years later and we are still together...now playing on the same team. I have friends who have met at kickball...who are now married, or with babies. It is not just a recess sport any more! I suggest you look into it in your town!

Hope everyone has an amazing day!

Monday Made It #4

I am linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for another Monday Made It!!

So last week I posted a picture of this wreath, which I made and Love! I had a lot of people comment on it and view it, so I thought I would take some pictures of how easy it is to create it! All you need it a pack of straight pins, a wreath (the one below is a larger one but the steps I show is with a smaller one.) Red, White and Blue Felt (Small Wreath about 4 pieces of each...Larger Wreath about 6-7 pieces of each). Then some sort of white stars..I picked up foam ones from Michael's. It all costs under $10 especially if you have a coupon for 40% off one item.

So Step One:  You need to cut your felt up. Cut them in squares... 2"x2". Very easy! I usually leave one of each color uncut, just in case I don't need it. If they are not perfectly cut that is OK. (See my red one down there...not perfect.)

OK, once all my felt is cut up, I put the squares into bowls to keep it all together. I then draw on my wreath to give me an idea of where and what colors go where. The big part on the top left is the blue, and the rest are either red or white.

Now comes the fun part! Pinning all the pieces on the wreath. First thing you do is fold corner to corner to create a triangle. (Don't mind my nails...I need to get them done again!)  Then you fold it again to create a smaller triangle.

Then you start pinning them into the wreath. You pin on the bottom point of the triangle this way the open part of the felt sticks out or up. If you look below I start pinning them kind of together like that.

Then you sort of just pinning. You decide how close you want them. Once you start it is pretty easy.

Here is mine with just the blue done. Then you continue with the other two colors. It goes pretty quickly and smoothly once you start pinning them. When you are finished just hot gIue or stick the stars on where you would like them.  just love the way it turned out. I also made a red and pink one for Valentine's Day!

Since I was on a roll with 4th of July decorations and since I have started watching the USA soccer games....I figured I would add some more Red, White and Blue to my house. The picture on the left-I do not make anything in. Just put some things together. I bought the pretty yellow roses from Trader Joe's..it came in that pot and I added the wheel thing. The picture on the right-I did trace and cut out the stars. Go Team USA!

Oh goodness this is a pretty long post for me. Made it #3 I saw on someone else's blog and I cannot for the life of me remember who's it was. So if it was you let me know so I can give you a shout out! These are Login Loops. Each student in my class will get a set of these..They will keep track of their usernames and passwords on them. I am going to laminate and cut them, (so I can just use washable marker and reuse them next year, or once a student moves.) tie them with yarn. I saw them with those silver rings but I don't want to spend the money on those. These will be in my store for free today. If you download them, please follow me on Teachers Pay Teachers and leave me some feedback.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer vacations and not working TOO hard!
